East Wall Opens at A-Basin Ski Area

Ski or Ride Back Country...In Bounds

Arapahoe Basin’s legendary East Wall is now open to the public! For the last few weeks patrollers at the ski area have set off over 200 pounds of explosives through both the avalaunchers and hand thrown methods in order to reduce avalanche potential. The steep, above timberline terrain that covers the east side of the ski area has received close to a foot of snow in the last week. Now, riders and skiers can obtain a back-country feel while still being in bounds.

The East Wall will remain open on a regular basis for the season weather and snow condition dependent. The area above the traverse will remain closed to hiking, but will open as conditions permit.

In addition, A-Basin just recently opened its Upper Treeline  terrain park. This new upper terrain park Treeline Terrain features intermediate and advanced jumps and hits. The park is located just below Jaime's Face. The lower High Divide terrain park has been open most of the season and features beginner and intermediate terrain park features.  It is located on Wrangler east of Lenawee Lift
