Jeanne Sutherland, PGA Professional and Head Golf Pro at the Vail Golf Club, has incorporated the latest video technology into her coaching techniques to help local and visiting golfers improve the mechanics of their swings. Dallas-based Vertex Golf, a leading provider of high-end sports motion analysis systems as well as 3D golf and entertainment simulators, provides professionals and courses with software to record, analyze and critique golfer’s swings, improving mechanics and ultimately lowering scores.
The swing analysis machine captures in real-time and in slow motion a golfer’s swing, recording it to video. A myriad of features are then available to Sutherland to help coach a player, including head movement analysis, sway line study, swing plane breakdown and launch velocity tracking. In addition, players can synchronize their swings to that of their favorite pro, track progress against their own past swing mechanics, and even email the video to friends.
The Vail Recreation District will host swing analysis lessons at Dobson Ice Arena for $45 per 30 minute session until April 15th, then lessons will move to the Vail Golf Club driving range once operations resume for the summer.
Lessons can be booked by calling Jeanne Sutherland on (970) 479-2260. For more information on the Vail Golf Club, visit www.vailgolfclub.net
