Vail Recreation District’s Fall Activities

The VRD is geared up for fall offering an array of activities and programs for all ages.

Vail Golf Club
Open to the public, the Vail Golf Club will continue to offer great play at great prices through late October, weather permitting. Beginning Sept. 8, golf patrons will enjoy off-season deals featuring 18 holes of play for $45 and nine holes of play for only $30, not including cart. Twilight play will cost $30 after 3:30 p.m. Private and group workshops and clinics will continue throughout September.  Call 970-479-2260 to book tee times or for additional information.

Ford Park Tennis Center
The Ford Park Tennis Center will continue to offer a full-range of tennis activities on its eight clay courts until Oct. 1, weather permitting. Programs include men's and women's tennis clubs, weekly matches and private instruction. The courts are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Vail Gymnastics Center
With ski and snowboard season just around the corner, the Vail Gymnastics Center is offering trampoline classes and open gym as an opportunity to prepare for the winter. Trampoline class hours vary and include instruction for ages four and older on basic trampoline safety to perfecting ski and snowboard tricks. Open gym for those 18 years and older takes place from 8 to 9 p.m. Mondays and 7:30 to 9 p.m. Thursdays providing an alternative method to get into shape. In addition to its regular offerings, the Gymnastics Center is offering a new after school program from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Mondays for ages five to 12 that is a mix of martial arts and gymnastics. The new program will include 45 minutes of gymnastics instruction followed by 45 minutes of martial arts instruction by Vail Academy of Martial Arts instructor Master Mathew Bayley. Vail Nature Center
The Vail Nature Center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through September and will continue to offer its adult full-day hikes through Sept. 25. Full-day hikes meet at 9 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Nature Center, which is located across from the Ford Park athletic fields. For details, call 970-479-2291.

Adult Sports Leagues/Open Gym
Registration for the men's Flag Football League is underway with league play beginning Sept. 14. Additionally, VRD open gym will begin Oct. 17 at Red Sandstone Elementary School for indoor soccer, volleyball and basketball. Information is available by calling 970-479-2280.
