Vail Golf Club Update

Final Update for the 2008 Season
YES, you can still play golf in Vail...

Vail Golf Course Open for Late-Season Play
The Vail Golf Club continues to remain open for play, weather permitting, offering 18 holes for $45 or $64 including cart and nine holes for $30 or $42 with cart. Those wishing to play after 3:30 p.m. can play up to 18 holes for $42 including cart. Although the first few flakes of snow have fallen, weather forecasts are predicting sunny weather for the next few days with a high of 60 on Saturday (10-25) and a high of 58 on Sunday (10-26) offering great weather for late-season play.

The driving range is scheduled to close Thursday, Oct. 30 and the golf club and pro shop will close Friday, Oct. 31. However, as a thank you for a great season, golfers will have an opportunity to continue unattended play and walk the course through late-November, with up to 10 holes available depending on the weather. Signage will be posted daily with information on which holes will be available for play.

Vail Golf Club Pro Shop Open Daily, Clearance Sale Underway
The Vail Golf Club Pro Shop is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and is offering up to 40 percent off on a variety of its inventory including shoes, clubs, luggage and more. Rental club sets are available for $389, a discount of nearly $1,000.

Early morning frost is requiring the driving range to open at 10:30 a.m. to allow for thawing. The driving range closes at dusk.

Vail Golf Club Offers Indoor Golf Swing Analysis
Looking for an excuse to play golf indoors or on cool weather days? Then check out the Vail Golf Club's golf swing analysis machine. The swing analysis utilizes multiple cameras and sound and light to capture a golfer's swing in real-time and slow motion, then records it to video. Swing analysis offers golfers an opportunity to study their head movement, sway line and swing plane, as well as synchronize their swings to that of their favorite pro, track progress against their own past swing mechanics and even e-mail the video to friends. Swing analysis lessons are available by appointment from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Lessons cost $35 per 30 minute session and can be booked by calling Vail Golf Club Head Professional Jeanne Sutherland at 479-2260 ext. 4.

Golf Course Maintenance Crews Preparing for Winter
Vail Golf Club course maintenance crews are busy prepping the course for winter including cutting, fertilizing and aerfiying. Course work on Monday (10-27) will require closure of the back tees on hole 11. The forward tees will remain open. For details on course maintenance work, e-mail the Vail Golf Club.
