Bud Light Big Air Friday Series – On-going through April 3 This entertaining eight-week series is entering its sixth year at Snowmass. The best snowboarders and skiers in the state descend upon Fanny Hill each Friday to perform the latest tricks for a chance at a prize purse and series points. This event began on February 13 and will continue every Friday through April 3. Competition is from 2-3pm on Fanny Hill, Followed by a live band performance from 3-4:30 in Base Village. The Friday celebration is topped off with a fireworks display at 7pm until March 13, 8pm starting on March 20.
CORE Party – March 20 – 8:00 p.m. Kicking off Spring Jam is the Core Party in downtown Aspen, on March 20 featuring Rusted Root! This downtown street party includes a Bud Light beer garden, Free professional themed photo booth and everyone’s favorite Kettle Corn stand! It will kick off at 8pm with DJ Naka G spinning beats before the big act! This event is free and open to the public, it will take place on the corner of Galena Street and Cooper Avenue.
Fallen Friends Memorial Event – March 21 – 11:00 am-1:00 pm Held at Aspen Highlands, this one-day event will gather teams of 2-5 to compete in an obstacle type course of jumps, bumps and park features. All the proceeds from the event will benefit the AVSC scholarship fund in honor of our “fallen friends” over the past few years. Registration is on-line at www.aspensnowmass.com/springjam
10th Annual KickAspen Big Air Invitational at Aspen Mountain – March 21 – 8:00-9:30 p.m. KickAspen Big Air showcases the best regional ski and snowboard athletes competing under the lights at the base of Aspen Mountain. Great prize giveaways, a Bud Light beer garden and a DJ will round out the action at the base of the mountain.
Terrain Park Boot Camp presented by Crocs – Saturday & Sunday - March 21, 22, 28 & 29 – 12:00-3:00 p.m. The Terrain Park Book Camp is an entry level terrain park that will be set up at Snowmass. Aspen Valley Ski & Snowboard Club coaches and athletes will teach beginners (13 and up) how to safely slide a rail, hit a box and throw a trick. From children to parents, this is open to anyone interested in learning the ropes of the terrain park. It will be open from 12-3 p.m. on March 21, 22, 28 & 29.
FREE Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert Series: March 22 & 27 The popular FREE Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert Series will host its remaining concerts on Sunday, March 22 in Snowmass featuring Bluegrass band Sam Bush and Friday, March 27 at the base of Aspen Mountain. March 27th will feature the electric rock band RATATAT. Previous acts this season have included Robert Randolph, Pennywise, Flobots and Galactic.
Red Bull Schnee Tag – March 28 – 2:00-4:00 p.m. Hold on tight for Red Bull Schnee Tag event (pronounced Sh-nee Tog) on Fanny Hill at Snowmass. Teams of four are invited to create a craft that will slide down Fanny Hill and attempt to soar over a 75x20 foot pond. Each team will perform a skit before their run and will be judged on costume theme, creativity and flight distance of their craft. The craft must be entirely human powered with no external energy sources. The craft must be less than 10 feet wide and weigh less than 400 pounds, including the pilot. Each team will pick just one member to fly their craft across the pond. Registration forms will be available on the events tab at www.aspensnowmass.com/springjam.
Helly Hansen Battle in the Bowls – March 29 – 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. The second annual Helly Hansen Battle in the Bowls event, hosted by Aspen/Snowmass Athlete Chris Davenport, features teams of two using Flaik GPS devices to track how skilled each duo is at skiing the many bowls of Aspen Highlands. This year there will be a competitive and non-competitive division. The goal is for each team in each division to finish the course that will be determined by Chris within the four hour time frame. The cost is $75/Team and each registrant receives a Helly Hansen Base Layer that includes the event logo! This is open to any skier or snowboarder who enjoys riding Aspen Highlands.
