General and specific comments about CME during the New Year's closure of I-70
This is the second year we have traveled with CME and the experience has been good, and the drivers entertaining (and professional). Our shuttle to Breck on the morning of Dec. 31 was canceled because of the snow/wind causing the closure of I-70. I immediately called CME to make new plans. The telephone delay was reasonable given the magnitude of the effect on travel. The rep I talked to was pleasant and efficient. She offered to put our names down for travel at 6:30 p.m. or 9:30 p.m. if the road opened by then. We chose 6:30. When it became apparent during the afternoon that the shuttle probably (but not yet certainly) would not be making the trip, I again called CME. The person I talked to was much less knowledgeable saying I could not make any changes over the phone! Obviously, we wanted an early morning shuttle for Jan. 1. She would not put our names on a list for the next day without charging us for a new reservation, even though CME likely could not fulfill its obligation that day. Because our short vacation was at stake, I agreed and my MasterCard was charged according. We had already pre-paid for the round-trip originally scheduled (Dec. 31 and Jan. 5). So we rode the shuttle on Jan. 1 and returned on Jan. 5 (our original reservation for the return trip). I spoke to the rep at the airport counter about the situation. He looked at his computer and said the original Dec. 31 trip had been "canceled". OK. However, we were in a hurry, and he was a bit confused about our story and he implied that the cancellation equated with a credit of the original payment for Dec. 31 since the trip was not made on that day but instead was taken and paid for separately on the next day. I'm sure anyone reading this knows that the original MasterCard charge is still there -- no credit was issued as of Jan. 9. So we paid twice to take one shuttle ride to Breck. I'll save this and eventually write to the executives of CME (and hopefully will not have to get MasterCard involved) hoping they will straighten it out.
My last ride on CME was in April of 2007. Ipicked it up in Frisco at 1:15 in the afternoon. We jumped out of the car, the driver shoved my suitcase in the back, shuffled around a few passengers then told me to get in and he closed the door and took off. Because the second row of seats is shorter, there reallyisn't room for 3 adults, one very overwieght There was no way I could get a seatbelt on and I spent the entire ride just trying to hold on so I wouldnt fall off. The heavy man keptquestioning the driver about whether we were going to make his flight, while the driver talked to the skinny cute girl in the front seat. This trip I will make sure I am buckled up before we drive away and that there is room for everyone. Put the big people in the front seat! When I contacted CME upon my return home I received a credit for a small portion of my fare. Iwill still travel with CME but I am not going to let the van leave until things are right.
Please consider changing your pickup location in Carbondale to the new RFTA Park and Ride lot on Hwy 133 - just a couple blocks from the Cowen Center. I left my car in the Days Inn lot for the weekend and got a nasty note from the hotel, but I didn't really have a choice since I don't have anyone to drop me off and pick me up.
ALso, I fell asleep on the way back from DIA - sorry , because I could have reminded Byron to stop at Edwards to visit The Mother Ship. I guess he got confused with Eagle - he is a young guy. Anyway, I enjoy using CME.
Would be good to have three point seatbelts in each seat
Great drivers on recent trip(kiwis).Excellent service.lap seatbelts are associated with a significant risk of spinal /intraabdominal injury in the case of an accident.Could you not consider updating to three point seatbelts in all seats in your vehicles?thanks
I was picked up by CME on 4/17 at 3:05p for shuttle service from The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch to the Denver Airport. Upon entering the van, I notified the driver, Chuck, that I was 3 months pregnant and might get a little queasy on the way down. He said he'd have a full load and recommended I sit in the front seat. What should have been a 2 hour drive, turned into a 6.5 hour drive due to the snow storm that began as soon as we hit the highway (I was really grateful for having the front seat). And I'm from Chicago, so I am no stranger to snow, but I was silently terrified by being stuck in the mountains in a snow storm! Passing the jack-knifed trucks and stalled cars didn't help. Then to make matters worse, we heard on the radio that there was a 25 car accident near the tunnel so traffic was a disaster and they were recommending people stay off the roads. As I looked at the edge of the highway, with nothing separating the end of the road and the mountains at times, I finally expressed my nervousness. Chuck assured me that we would be fine. There was even a frequent rider who vowed for his driving skills and said we were in very good hands. I felt much better. Every so often, Chuck would put his hand on the arm of the passenger seat and ask if I was okay. After communicating that I may have to use the bathroom in a bit, he assured me he would stop at a rest stop after traffic began to move. My husband (in Atlanta) and parents (in Chicago) called my cell phone periodically to see how I was doing. Each time I communicated that "Chuck" was taking great care of me, as well as the other six ladies on the bus. After we made it through the tunnel, Chuck stopped at a rest stop so we could relieve ourselves. When we finally made it to Denver, he dropped the ladies at the airport and was nice enough to drop me at my hotel on Tower Road. Instead of handing me my bags to go into the hotel, he actually carried them in to the front desk and verified the time the restaurant closed next door so I could get something to eat. I was blown away! I only had $10 cash in my purse, but if I had more, I would have given him everything! To have a total stranger take care of me in the manner Chuck did during such a scary situation, was priceless. My family and I are truly grateful and wanted to commend Chuck for not only being great at what he does, but for being an angel of a human being. The world would be a much better place if there were more people like him. Please thank him on my behalf. Sincerely, Keisha Echols :-)
Thank you…..Colorado Mountain Express is phenomenal.
There was not one issue with our group’s transportation from Denver
to/from Vail. Thanks to you, Lynne, Paula, and Patrece for all of your
hard work and patience. You all were flawless!
I was very pleased with my ride to the Denver Airport from the Vail Plaza in Vail on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008. The driver, whose name I don't recall, is an excellent driver. Where the roads were icy, he drove slowly and kept a good distance from any vehicle in front of him. There was a patch of ice where the van began to slide, but he quickly and "gently" corrected and we were back on track. I am sorry I don't recall his name. He is an excellent driver. Thank you.
I just wanted to give some positive feedback. I contacted 3 different
shuttle operators regarding my travel plans, and based on the responses I
received, I chose CME for my reservation. I made the reservation this
morning, and I wanted to let you know that the decision on who to choose
was based on the quick and professional response I received to my inquiry.
I really appreciate the customer service I have received, as well as the
very clear fee structure. I am making this trip on a budget, and was
originally going to go with a company that quoted $65 each way for the
fare. Their website was not clear on their rate structure, or availability
of drop off/pick up locations, and my inquiries received very vague, badly
written, and unprofessional responses. When it came down to it, they were
going to add an extra $20 each way to drop me off in Silverthorne. Since
that then made the cost higher than what your website indicated, I decided
to see whether your price included drop-off in Silverthorne.
The service is what made me choose CME over the competitor, and the extra $6 in my pocket is just a bonus!
My Family and especially my wife and I have been using CME almost as long as it has been in existence and have always been completely satisified with the services. This year (Christmas week) was our 27th year to Vail and the service was outstanding. We arrived Eagle-Vail Airport and immediately were whisked to the awaiting van #62 and the driver - A very pleasant and personable Cameron Allan from London. He quickly loaded our baggage, as well as, the additional passengers and we headed East for Vail.
As we remember, every driver we have had in the past seemed to be safe and courteous, but Cameron stood out and seemed to pay close attention to the driving conditions and traffic. When we arrived in Vail, he deposited the other guests and then took my wife and I to The Wren to drop us off. At my request he backed up to allow us to cross a small cross-walk to the condo and lightly struck a post with the rear of the van. We both got out and looked to see any damage (I saw None). He applogized and stated he did not see the post. I had never seen the post and did not even know they were there.
The bump did not concern my wife or I and we thought no further of the incident. Cameron was our return driver on Dec. 27th and we were glad to see him as we had such a pleasant experience on the incoming trip. In our conversation on the return trip we commented on the post (jokingly), and he said he was aware of the post now and would be more cautious.
He did indicate that it might affect his "Safety Bonus". My wife and I both commented that we hope that it would not, as it did not alarm us and I again commented that I had not witnessed any damage.
We would put Cameron up as one of the top drivers' we have ever had as far as friendly/courteous/cautious and a very safe driver. Please be lenient on his "Safety Bonus" and he should be prized by your Company as one in the "Top" Drivers of CME>
I just wanted to thank you for going the extra mile and getting our phone
back to me. This was our first trip to Colorado and we found CME was an
excellent way to get to our destination, everyone was very cordial and the
transport was clean and efficient. It is the little things that count.
Our trip was great! My wife and I were very pleased with CME's
Premier roundtrip transport. The condo and whole x-games experience was
fantastic. I would highly suggest you giving someone the chance to
enjoy this for the 2010' X-Games! If you have trouble finding someone
I would be happy to help you with that! (:
I was not a passenger on a CME shuttle ride, but rather another driver on Highway 6 from Dillon to Keystone where a CME driver cut me off and it wasn't very easy to hit the brakes when the roads were covered with ice and slush. I ran my window wipers full speed long enough so I could read the license plate. It was a Colorado plate, number 121-KXI. The vehicle was a beige Chevy Suburban. The time was about 2:45pm on Monday, Feb. 23. If anyone from the CME office actually reads these comments, someone needs to talk to this driver about careless driving! There are other people on the road!!!
CME responds:
