The 2008 24-Hours of Sunlight is Less Than a Month Away

A challenging event to test your strength...sign up now!

The Third Annual, 24 Hours of Sunlight will take place at the base area at Sunlight Mountain Resort on Saturday, February 23 and Sunday, February 24.  24 Hours of Sunlight is an endurance race that challenges teams of all ages and abilities to hike up the mountain and ski, snowboard, or snowshoe down, for an entire 24 hour period.

The race starts at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2008 with music, contests, freebies, and food to keep the spectators entertained on the mountain throughout the 24 hour race.  The race is planned specifically on this evening, so racers can take advantage of the full moon.  On Sunday, February 24, the race will officially end at 11:00 a.m., but the celebration will continue with an awards ceremony and a racer raffle.

The race is open to individual participants, pairs, or teams of four or five.  At least one woman must be on a team with five members.  Participants will begin at the base area at Sunlight and go up Dotsero to Loop Run, up Loop to Rebel, and right off Rebel into the parks where there will be The Turn Around Tent.  A vertical climb of 1,483 feet!
