| August 29, 2008 | | Vail Jazz Foundation presents the Labor Day Weekend Jazz Party from Thursday, August 28 through Monday, September 1, 2008 at the Vail Cascade Resort & Spa. | This internationally acclaimed event features the world's greatest jazz musicians in over twenty-four hours of music. Hosted at the spectacular Vail Cascade Resort & Spa in Vail, Colorado, the Labor Day Weekend Party brings together the best jazz musicians in an intimate, cabaret-style setting for a blend of jazz music not found anywhere else!
Labor Day Weekend partygoers will enjoy artists including The Clayton Brothers Quintet, Hendrik Meurkens Samba Jazz Quintet, and the legendary Jimmy Bruno trio.
Solo performers include saxophonist Joel Frahm, trombonist Wycliffe Gordon, pianists Benny Green and Don ‘Papadon’ Washington, Ann Hampton Callaway, and B-3 player Tony Monaco. Bill Cunliffe will also play and present a salute to Horace Silver, and the VJF All stars will share their unique blend of jazz with festival audiences.
