        <Name>Final Race of the La Sportiva Trail Running Series will be held on Vail Mountain on September 7, 2008</Name>
        <Summary>The race features Evergold 10K and will be the fifth and final race in the Vail Recreation District’s Trail Running Series.</Summary>
        <Description>La Sportiva Vail Mountain Trail Running Series will take place at 10 a.m. Sunday, September 7, 2008.&amp;nbsp; The six-mile course begins and finishes at the base of Golden Peak and will take runners on lower portions of Vail Mountain's trail system, including a mix of single track, Forest Service roads and portions of the popular Berry Picker Trail. Runners will experience an average grade of 11 percent and gain nearly 1,900 feet in elevation throughout the race. Aid stations with water and Gatorade Endurance Formula will be located at miles two and four. &amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;Individual race costs are $25 for pre-registration or $35 on race-day. Registration is available online at www.active.com and www.vailrec.com or from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday (9-6) at the VRD's administration building, located at 700 S. Frontage Rd. East. Day-of registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the race start area located behind the Golden Peak Children's Center. The race will begin at 10 a.m. Racers should park in the Vail Village parking structure where parking is free for the summer.&lt;br /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;Prizes from La Sportiva are presented to overall and age group winners of each event with series prizes to be awarded after Sunday's race to runners who have competed in at least four events. Currently there are 36 runners in contention for series prizes. Top leaders for the men include Jonny Stevens, 18; Troy Carmody, 24; William Gray, 39; Bernie Boettcher, 45; Hooker Lowe, 54; and Jim McKelby, 61.
