Ground Transportation, Denver to Summit County

The landscape of ground transportation between the Denver Airport and the ski resorts is littered with small 1 and 2 vehicle operations. Some are legit, many are not. Often these smaller 1 and 2 vehicle companies are unlicensed, sometimes uninsured, and often have questionable business ethics.

We evaluated a variety of ground transportation companies and when it was all said and done we had one clear winner.

Colorado Mountain Express runs an impressive operation between Colorado's various airports and the ski resorts. To us, Colorado Mountain Express was the clear winner due to several factors. They had a professional staff of drivers that undergo several weeks of training before they get to drive passengers. Their insurance and licensing was well above the minimums required by law, and their office is staffed 24 hours per day (except slow seasons) by people who will actually answer the phone. At the airports, they have actual counters with real people to check you in and make sure the van picks you up.

To give you some idea of the size of CME's operation, they have almost 500 employees and over 200 vehicles. Obviously they didn't get this big by chance. They got to be this size because they do the job better than any of the others. CME also provide a private card service called CME Premier.

So there you have it, our recommendation for ground transportation goes to Colorado Mountain Express. You can call them toll free at 800-525-6363 or online at www.ridecme.com.
